Here to write things that I cannot really put in academic publications. Not because I think my ideas are somehow really controversial, but because I can write in a more expressive way and provide more speculation and less material to back those speculations up.

“Vinouma” has a meaning, but it is also just an aesthetically pleasing word. It has no scary umlauts or exotic characters. It is Finnish for what is usually called “bias”, but would translate more literally to “(an instance of) skew”. Even in English, the word “bias” has a negative connotation that I would like to avoid when talking about cognition, because skewing towards something does not automatically mean “wrong”.
